KTM Intercity service is provided by KTM (Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad). KTM Intercity service is a must-try, especially for those who wants a safe, hassle-free and relaxed-and-easy mode of travel between cities or to remote areas. There are two Day Express trains namely Ekspres Sinaran and Ekspres Rakyat and four Night Express trains namely Senandung Malam, Senandung Langkawi, Ekspres Wau and Ekspres Timuran. These trains ply routes from Kuala Lumpur to Padang Besar, Singapore and also the East Coast up to Tumpat. The more popular routes among passengers include Kuala Lumpur -- Hatyai, Kuala Lumpur -- Singapore, Kuala Lumpur -- Tumpat and Singapore -- Tumpat. Currently, the Putra LRT operates a 30 km route with a total of 24 stations from Gombak to Kelana Jaya in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. Star LRT was implemented in two phases; the first phase with 14 stations from Ampang to Jalan Sultan Ismail which forms a 14 KM route. This route goes though highly populated as Ampang, Pandan Indah and Maluri. The second phase comprises of another 7 stations from Jalan Sultan Ismail to Sentul Timur; and Chan Sow Lin to Bukit Jalil. This is a rail service provided by KTM Berhad, which connects Kuala Lumpur to outlying townships within a 50 KM radius. These electric trains run along existing railway routes. KL Monorail is an inner-city public transit system that serves the central business, hotel and shopping district of Kuala Lumpur, the major city in Malaysia. The 8.6km long, monorail system will begin from the Pekeliling Bus Terminal, passing through Kuala Lumpur's 'Golden Triangle' before reaching KL Central in Brickfields. KLIA Ekspres is designed with air travelers' needs in mind. The non-stop journey between KL Sentral and KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport) takes only 28 minutes. KLIA Ekspres departs from both terminals every 15 minutes, on the hour and every quarter of an hour, seven days a week. KLIA Ekspres' air-conditioned carriages are equipped with comfortable contoured seats, a washroom, overhead racks for light luggage and tiered racks for large luggage. KLIA Transit is a rapid transit service designed specially for commuters and airport personnel. KLIA Transit started its service in June 2002. Its traveling route is exactly the same as KLIA Express, but it makes 3 quick intermediate stops along key townships - Bandar Tasik Selatan, Putrajaya & Cyberjaya and Salak Tinggi. KLIA Transit integrates with KTM Komuter and STAR LRT at Bandar Tasik Selatan and with Putrajaya Monorail at Putrajaya's Western Transport Terminal. KLIA Transit departs every half-an-hour from KL Sentral and KLIA terminals. Total journey time is 36 minutes. Fares are based on distance traveled.
