Intercity Express Bus

Express Bus in Malaysia

In Peninsula Malaysia, express buses are transiting through every city and town of varying sizes. You can easily travel from the southen region to the northen states, and from the east to the west cost. The names of intercity and intracity express bus operators are just too much to be included here. All the operators available are easily accessible at the ticketing counters in every bus terminal. VIP and super coaches are available for long journey transit.

Intracity Transit

The intracity transit operators in Kuala Lumpur and near-by destinations are:

  • Intrakota
  • Cityliner
  • Putraline

Intrakota service network is covering most, if not all, of the towns and in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya. Thus, this is probably one of the transits that you'll meet the most. The service route is devided into 5 zones, such as the following:

  1. Zone 1 - Kampung Dato Keramat, Ulu Kelang, Ampang
  2. Zone 2 - Cheras, Salak Selatan, Sungai Besi
  3. Zone 3 - Petaling Jaya, Jalan Kelang Lama, Bangsar, Damansara
  4. Zone 4 - Kepng, Jinjang, Segambut, Selayang
  5. Zone 5 - Sentul, Gombak, Jalan Genting Kelang

Cityliner is another intracity transit, which is comparable to Intrakota in terms of service network, but with limited coverage in Zone 5.

Putraline is an add-on service provided by the Putra LRT. Putraline's core service is to fetch the passengers between Putra LRT station and its inter-town locations, at a flat rate of RM 0.50 . Thus, after dropping at a Putra LRT station, and if you're traveling to a nearby location within the same town, then you may consider to take the convenient Putraline.

However, not all the Putra LRT stations are equiped with Putraline. You may check out its service map for further information.
